Whickham Hermitage Community Garden is an award-winning free-to-use garden with a modern Orangery tearoom, providing an oasis in the heart of a bustling village.
The Garden has been lovingly restored and renewed by a dedicated team of volunteers and experts. Visitors can enjoy a walk around to appreciate the vast array of plants and visit the pond (the old mini boating lake).
The Orangery Cafe offers a warm and dry indoor space so you can enjoy the garden year-round. Large windows let you to view the garden while relaxing with a drink and bite to eat.
The array of sculptures in the Garden have been created on-site by local artists; there’s a children’s playhouse and fairy village for little visitors to enjoy!
Great variety of plants for sale. Wheelchair accessible paths and toilet throughout. Dogs on leads are welcome in the garden area and marquee.
Look out for special events with extended opening times, including visits by the Easter Bunny and other activities.
